Ocean High Kitesurfing School’s success is built upon providing the highest quality, internationally accredited kitesurfing and powerkiting lessons possible to get our students up and riding quickly and safely. Our aim is to limit the course numbers to no more than two students per instructor (4:1 for power kiting and 1/2 Day taster sessions) and we have access to the most amazing kitesurfing locations in Cornwall. Everything is focussed around the student learning at their own pace, because with years of experience we have found out that this is the fastest way to help you achieve your goal of becoming an independent and competent power kiter or kitesurfer.
Kitesurfing itself is the fastest growing water-sport in the world, and although barely 10 years old recent advances in equipment and teaching practices have made this sport even more accessible to anyone keen to learn.
A common misconception of kitesurfing is that you need years of water-sports experience and massive strength, yet nothing could be further from the truth. Kites themselves are incredibly light in your hands when flown correctly and the key is good technique not brute strength, making the sport incredibly popular with riders of all ages, abilities and sexes.
When you undertake a power kite or kitesurfing course with Ocean High Kitesurfing School here in Cornwall you can be assured that we strictly adhere to International Kiteboarding Organisation (IKO) and British Kitesurfing Association (BKSA) standards and procedures. Upon successful completion* you will be given an internationally recognised IKO card to indicate the level you have achieved so that you can easily carry on with further instruction at another centre or rent equipment from participating centres (if you reach Level 2).
All safety equipment and wetsuits are provided by Ocean High and you will learn with the latest 2011 Ozone and Slingshot kites.
Power kiting is a great introductory step into kite surfing and a fantastic sport and experience in its own right. It is such an accessible sport for all ages and the whole family can have a great time. Power kiting can be done on a beach or a park or field and so is an incredibly versatile sport that keeps you fit and grinning at the same time.............more
