STAND UP PADDLEBOARD COURSES

Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is one of the world’s fastest growing water sports. Over the past few years, it has become huge in the USA and Australia and is now going mainstream in the UK.

SUP is a highly accessible, fun and social way to enjoy sea or inland waters. Almost anyone can do it, whatever your age, skill or fitness level. We’ve had students from 6 to 75 and also people with physical disabilities.

Within just a couple of hours, you will have mastered the basics.

Boards, paddles and rash vests are provided by Ocean High and you will learn using the latest boards from Red Paddle Co. Our courses are run in safe waters off Marazion in west Cornwall as well as the shelter of Penzance harbour and Hayle harbour when conditions dictate. All our instructors are BSUPA qualified and fully insured.

We guarantee you will leave with a smile on your face and a new passion!

In just one hour, we will teach you board safety, assessment of the conditions and location, introduction to the board (without a paddle to start with to get a ‘feel’ for it) and self-recovery techniques. We then add the paddle to the mix and get you up and riding in no time.

By the end of the session, you will almost certainly be able to confidently paddle a board. Above all, you will be having fun and will want to have another go! Boards are then available to hire after your intro course so you can put all you have learned into practice on your own.

I've been seeing a few of these over near me at River Hayle when I paddle from Lelant Station at high tide. One of them is so large/scary ( I don't know if they sting) but so beautiful.

No Limits for Colin. We had an incredible Easter weekend introducing so many people to SUP but my highlight was seeing Colin on the water on one of our boards. He’s an experienced SUPer and kayaker but being in a wheelchair for 25 years has never stopped him. It’s always getting to and getting on the water that is the challenge so huge thanks to Mobility Cornwall who have given the beach wheelchair to St Michael’s Mount to offer to visitors to enable access to the beach and the Mount. Colin is an inspiration so if you are doubting you can try paddleboarding then think again. @cornwallmobility #cornwallmobility #staubynsestate #stmichaelsmount @stmichaelsmount #nolimits #inspiration ... Thanks again for your help organising the beach chair for my husband. We had a great time on the sea. Beaches are so often inaccessible for us so it was great to be able to use the beach chair and we had a fab time 😀
